Bermuda’s defence force pitched in for a massive clean-up of the island’s coasts at the weekend. A group of ten Royal Bermuda Regiment soldiers, plus support from Motor Transport troops, volunteered to clear up waste in the water in the west end, near to the new headquarters of the expanded RBR Boat Troop.
A total of 23 new soldiers today (FRI) passed out of the Royal Bermuda Regiment’s first summer recruit camp. The soldiers were cheered on by friends and family as they marched on to Warwick Camp’s parade ground to be presented with their rank badges – and prizes for the outstanding recruits and instructors.
The island’s newest soldiers today (FRI) spent the day perfecting their drill and weapons safety. Recruits at the Royal Bermuda Regiment’s first summer Recruit Camp practiced their drill moves and worked with SA-80 rifles in preparation for their visit to the firing range next week.
The Governor paid a visit to the Royal Bermuda Regiment’s first summer recruit camp yesterday. John Rankin, Commander-in-Chief of the RBR, chatted with the service’s newest soldiers, toured Warwick camp and inspected new vehicles brought in to boost the capabilities of the island’s defence force.
